If your Reticulocytes (Absolute) is low
A count below the range means the marrow is releasing few new red cells, commonly associated with nutrient deficiencies, kidney function or marrow suppression.

- Low iron, B12 or folate
- Kidney function

An absolute count above the range means active red cell production, commonly after blood loss or when red cells are being cleared faster than usual.
